The official language of Myanmar is Burmese. English is a popular foreign language in the country. The most popular among them is the Burmese which is spoken by two-thirds of the country’s population. Nearly 100 languages are spoken in Myanmar (Burma). The Centre offers a Six-Month Certificate Course in Myanmarese Language (July-Dec.) and (Jan -June) for the benefit of young scholars who would like to study Myanmar from their own disciplines.
